Abstract
Aim-To study the visual and anatomic response to treatment in inflammatory peripapillary choroidal neo-vascular membrane(CNVM)Method-Retrospective analysis of uveitis patients presenting with peripapillary CNVM
Results-18 eyes of 13 patients analysed . The CNVM was unilateral in 8 patients and bilateral in 5 . 77% had an etiological diagnosis of presumed ocular TB (n=10). Systemic treatment included oral steroids in all patients, anti-tuberculosis treatment in 10 patients and immunosuppressive in 5 patients. Anti-VEGF injections were given in 14 eyes. Visual acuity remained stable in 72% (n=13), improved in 22% (n=4) and worsened in 6%(n=1) of eyes. At the end of follow-up CNVM was active in 5 eyes and resolved in 13 eyes. Conclusion-Combined treatment results in anatomical resolution of CNVM in 72% of eyes and helps in stabilizing or improving visual acuity in 94% of eyes with inflammatory peripapillary CNVM
