Abstract
INTRODUCTION- Intra lenticular foreign bodies are rare in ocular trauma . It accounts for 5 %of all intra ocular foreign bodies.CASE REPORT- A 35 year old male came with h/o injury to right eye with metal piece while working on same day. On examination,vision- OD-CF 2mts and OS- 6/6 ,OD- full thickness corneal tear around 3 mm in paracentral area,seidels negative and irregular 4mm pupil with traumatic cataract . On dilation, around 2 mm intra lenticular foreign body noted peripherally. Fundus was normal.OS- anterior and posterior segment examination was normal.CT orbit was done to r/o multiple foreign bodies. He under went corneal tear repair with foreign body removal and extra capsular cataract extraction on same day and topical corticosteroids given on post operatively.Secondary pciol was implanted after 2 months. His postoperative vision at 3 months was 6/9 with correction.CONCLUSION- Early intervention is necessary in intralenticular forgin body to prevent further complications.
