Abstract
A 37-year-old female presented to our OPD with a history of painless growth in both eyes for the past five years. Vision in BE was 6/6 with glasses. On examination, RE had temporal 4 *2 mm, nasal 4 *3 mm, elevated conjunctival swellings with feeder vessels. LE also had 3 *1.5 mm,2.5 *1 mm swellings in the nasal and temporal conjunctiva respectively. Fundus was normal in both eyes. She underwent excision biopsy of temporal conjunctival swelling in RE as it caused more discomfort than LE. Postoperatively started on a tapering dosage of steroid-antibiotic combination. In the meantime, she underwent systemic workup inclusive of USG abdomen and gynaecological examination, which were normal.HPE report showed atypical lymphoid hyperplasia and advised regular follow-up to check for the progression of other lesions. The case illustrates the importance of the distinction between reactive(benign) and neoplastic conjunctival lymphoid infiltrates, which has a long-term prognostic value.
