Abstract
We present an interesting case of a seven year old male child who underwent pars plana vitrectomy with lensectom followed by secondary retropupillary Iris Claw IOL (IC-IOL) fixation for subluxated lens secondary to Marfan’s syndrome. Post-operative checkup at two weeks revealed a partial spontaneous subluxation of IC-IOL into the anterior chamber in right eye. Parents gave history of the rigorous jumping by child while playing. At two weeks follow up visit the temporal haptic of the IC-IOL at 9’o clock was seen protruding into anterior chamber. The child underwent repeat surgery to re-enclave the IC-IOL. It was confirmed intra operatively, that sufficient amount of iris tissue was enclaved into the lens haptics. Conclusion. In our patient, subluxation of retropupillary fixed claw lens happened into the anterior chamber which could have possibly been secondary to inadvertent sudden change in posture while playing. Intra operative care should be taken to confirm the of stability of IOL
