Abstract
Retrospective analysis for 54 postvitrectomy(VIT) cases with attached retina was performed.Optical coherence tomography (OCT) based central retinal thickness(CRT) was analysed.Cases with silicone oil fill were included in study after silicone oil removal (SOR).Exclusion criteria: infective etiology, combined phaco+vitrectomy, post trauma ,macular hole, glaucoma, retina procedures while SOR, poor signal strength on OCT.Complete ophthalmic examination (COE) and OCT was performed at 1 month post VIT/SOR.Cases with CRT >250 micron received nepafenac 0.1% QID for 1month.Inspite of the treatment ,cases with CRT>250 microns post VIT/SOR irrespective of cystoid spaces was defined as PPVMT, they received intravitreal dexamethasone implant (IVDEX 0.7mg).COE and OCT was performed 1month,3months postIVDEX. Anatomic recovery was CRT<250 microns with no cystoid spaces post IVDEX.PPVMT=12/54 cases(22.22%).Anatomic recovery=8/12 cases.Post IVDEX average visual acuity improvement was from 0.4 to 0.6.
