Abstract

Dellen is a shallow, saucer like excavation at the margins of cornea due to localised dehydration.

Dellen occurs due to break in tear film layer causing local dehydration of cornea stroma leading to compression of its lamellae. It occurs as a result of strabismus and pterygium surgery, filtering blebs, limbal mass, rigid contact lens wear. In our case it was it was conjunctival chemosis due to pyelonephrosis.
