Abstract
METHODS: A cross sectional study involving 190 IDDM patients(Age>18 years and disease duration>1 year)were categorized into 2 groups. 80 patients with DR (Group A) and 110 without DR(Group B). They were interviewed using Audit of Diabetes dependent quality of life(ADDQoL-19) questionnaire containing 21 variables with scores ranging from-3 to +1.Total score range: +3(highest QoL) to-9 (poorest QoL). Comparison of both groups done using t test and chi square test and a p valve <0.05 was considered significant RESULTS: Patients with DR showed lower QoL score(p=0.041) in comparison with their counterparts without DR. The severity of disease had a negative impact on QoL CONCLUSION: DR has a significant detrimental impact on the QoL in Indian patients diagnosed with IDDM.[advanced_iframe src="https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx?src=https://aiosproceedings.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/2021/E-Poster/FP1816.pptx" width="100%" height="608"]
