Abstract
Methods : Ice pack test was Positive. Neostigmine test was positive and a diagnosis of Ocular myasthenia was confirmed. RNS test and Acetyl-Cholinesterase antibodies were tested and both were negative. Patient was started on T. Pyridostigmine and T. Prednisolone according to weight.
Results : Patient improved symptomatically after 3 weeks seeing an improvement in Ptosis and extraocular movements.
Conclusion : Ocular Myasthenia is a relatively uncommon disorder that can mimic other neuro-ophthalmic conditions. Different ways of presentation can pose a diagnostic dilemma to the clinician. Effective therapy aims at providing symptomatic relief and preventing generalization of disease and involves the use of anti- cholinesterase inhibitors and corticosteroids.
