Abstract

An unusual presentation of acute facial nerve palsy following dog bite (in front of right ear) in a 6 year old girl who presented to the emergency with inability to close the right eye completely and deviation of the mouth towards left side.

Most common reason of facial nerve paralysis is idiopathic but here its a rare presentation of acute facial nerve palsy immediately following dog bite injury, reason most likely being the direct injury to the facial nerve trunk.
