Abstract
Case series of two cases diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis involving the upper lid resulting in complete eye closure because of unilateral ptosis. After detailed evaluation of the lid mass and appropriate investigations including imaging, de-bulking surgery was carried out to remove the neurofibromatous tissue from the upper lid taking all precautions to salvage the Levator Palpebrae Superioris and Orbital Septum so that there is minimal risk of myogenic ptosis following the surgery. In both the cases, it was observed that there was no clear cut delineation of LPS . In case 1 following debulking surgery mechanical ptosis was not resolved because LPS was involved in the neurofibroma tissue and was resected for which sling surgery was carried out to lift the lid to the desired height. In case 2 , LPS could be salvaged for which eyelid movements were normal.
RESULT and CONCLUSION: Post operatively excellent cosmetic and functional result was seen following meticulous surgery
