Abstract
Purpose:To analyse SHRM in Posterior Uveitis using Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography and OCT Angiography. Methods:Prospective randomized control study.SS-OCT and SS-OCTA used to study SHRM character and identify choroidal neovascular(CNV)complex within SHRM.Eyes with vascular SHRM randomised to treatment (Group I)/observation(group II).Group I received intravitreal Ranibizumab (0.05mg/0.05ml).Change in SHRM dimensions, character and flow from baseline studied in both the groups at 6 month follow up.Results:Two-third (28/42) of the eyes with SHRM harboured CNV(Vascular SHRM) at presentation.Significant decrease in SHRM height and flow in treatment group. Conclusions:High reflectivity and increased OCTtransmission through SHRM suggest avascular SHRM.Presence of Pitchfork sign and Intra/subretinal fluid indicate presence of intrinsic CNV.All SHRMs with CNV complex do not require treatment but need closer follow up than the eyes with avascular SHRM to look for the signs of activity.
