Abstract
Method- A female presented with painful Right red eye since 1 month with history of similar untreated episodes of intermittent redness since 2 years. Slit lamp examination revealed RE PUK with scleritis and diagnosed as Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was started on topical steroids, cyclosporine along with lubricant and oral Cyclosporine. She recovered in 1 month but presented with a recurrence again after 3 months and further investigated and diagnosed as TB with Rheumatoid Arthritis so systemic AKT and oral Methotrexate was started with continuation of topical treatment showed healing of lesion in 1.5 months
result- Long term immunosuppresion and close follow-up can heal recurrent scleritis with PUK
Conclusion- PUK with scleritis need thorough systemic evaluation and control of systemic and autoimmune disease along with control of ocular inflammation is the mainstay of management
