Abstract

Purpose:

Our aim of this study to describe ocular manifestations in confirmed COVID 16 patients in dedicated corona hospital.

PATIENTS AND METHODS:

A total of 328 eyes of 164 patients randomly were selected from different CORONA dedicated wards of dedicated COVID Hospital. . All cases were grossly evaluated with torch light considering appearance of eyelids, conjunctiva, cornea and pupillary reaction. Conjunctival swab was also collected by trained medical assistant with full personal protective equipment in case of ocular findings.

RESULTS:

Only 12 (07.32%) patients had ocular symptoms as redness and swelling of eye lids. There was no positive finding in rt PCR in any of the sample collected from conjunctival swab in all these patients.

CONCLUSION: In case of confirmed covid cases, few cases may be present with external eye diseases signs which are not vision threatening and corona virus RNA is not available in conjunctival swab.
