Abstract

AIM Comparison of incidence and clinical profile of ocular trauma patients in lockdown period 2020 with the inpatients of same time frame of the previous year 2019.

Study design Retrospective interventional hospital based comparative study.

The study was targeted at determining the etiological and demographic pattern of ocular trauma and factors influencing the incidence due to Home based lockdown.

Methodology The patients of ocular trauma admitted to tertiary care hospital in between March- June 2019 (Group A) were compared with those of March- June 2020 (Group B) after COVID test with an incidence of 1:1.8

Most common age group seen in 2019 was 10-40 years and 5-20 years in 2020

CONCLUSION- Ocular trauma is a significant reason of monocular blindness and have stringent psychological and social impacts.it should be referred to an ophthalmologist and treated promptly to limit the complication and for better visual outcomes.
