Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the post operative vault changes with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS- OCT) in eyes with Implantable collamer lens (ICL) both in undilated and dilated states of pupil.

Methods: A total of 32 eyes with moderate to high Myopia who had ICL V 4 C ( STAAR Visian ICL) underwent vault measurements using AS-OCT in mesopic conditions in undilated ( 3mm) and post dilatation state of the pupil (8 mm) after instilling mydriatic drops( Tropicamide 0.8% and Phenylephrine 5%)

Results: Median undilated vault measurement was 393.00 microns (335.50 – 493.50). Median post dilatation vault was 421.00 microns (338.50 – 503.75). This was not statistically significant (p = 0.44, Wilcoxon signed rank test)

Conclusion: As the vault measurements did vary with the pupil size, it does not make any clinical difference if we measure the vault in a dilated or undilated state of the pupil. This study is the first such attempt to measure vault in different pupil sizes.
