Abstract
Method: In this retrospective study we enrolled patient and collected data of patients who undergone cataract surgery and Nd YAG capsulotomy. We retrieved data from our Electronic medical records. We documented clinical examination, surgical aspects, follow up details refractive status before and after Nd YAG capsulotomy. All data exported and analysed.
Results: Our cohort had 120 cases 68 male and 52 female with mean age 59.1 years.
We found significant difference in vision before and after Nd YAG capsulotomy. (p=0.000)We found mean sphere is 0.36 and 0.41 while mean cylinder 1.5 and 1.0 before and after Nd YAG capsulotomy. We found significant difference in sphere and cylinder before and after Nd YAG capsulotomy. (p=0.001, 0.002)
Conclusion: Nd YAG capsulotomy though non-invasive procedure can cause significant difference in refractive status of eye.
