Abstract
Method: This is a prospective study we enrolled all cataracts operated between 2004-2018 and any complication and its repair reported in pretested online form and all post-operative data documented all these data exported to excel sheet from EMR and analysed by SPSS22
Results: Our cohort involved 3015 cases out of 1.2 l total cataract cases. We found complications documented for different stages wound management 1015-29.3%capsulotomy285-1.8% nucleus management827-24.4%, cortical clean up 1452-42.9%, and IOL management 263-7.8%.We studied intervention done as second surgery has made significant difference in visual outcome
Conclusion: Cataract surgeries done by trainee surgeons caused complications at various stages, interventions done by vitreo retinal surgeons made significant difference in final visual outcome
