Abstract
18 year old male presented with loss of vision in right eye for 6 years following hit by a shoe. BCVA was FC at 2 meter in right eye and 6/6 in left eye. Anterior Segment examination was within normal limits. Fundus examination revealed neurosensory detachment involving macula extending from disc to 3DD temporal to fovea with yellow dots on posterior surface of detached fovea. ILM folds were seen radiating from disc to fovea. SD-OCT of affected eye showed altered foveal contour with subretinal fluid with splitting of the neurosensory retina at various levels and disruption of outer nuclear layer, external limiting membrane, ellipsoid zone and interdigitation zone in the foveal regions. Multiple large schisis cavities could be seen under fovea. Thin irregular band of moderately reflective tissue seen over retina suggestive of ERM. Traumatic macular retinoschisis is a rare clinical entity which carries poor visual prognosis.
