Abstract
Retinal dialysis is the most common retinal sequelae from ocular contusion injury. We present a case of 49-year old with blunt ocular trauma to the left eye. Visual acuity was PL+ PR inaccurate with diffuse corneal haze, mid-dilated pupil and IOP of 6 mm Hg in left eye. USG B-scan revealed vitreous hemorrhage, posteriorly dislocated lens and retinal detachment (RD). A 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy was performed and vitreous haemorrhage was removed. Intraoperative visualization of the posterior segment revealed dislocated lens, retinal dialysis in the superonasal quadrant¸ macular hole and complete bullous RD. Lens extraction was done using a phacofragmotome under PFCL. Retinal dialysis was sealed with cryo and barrage endolaser was performed. PFCL was removed and silicone oil was injected. Postoperative IOP was 16 mm Hg and best-corrected visual acuity 3/60. Despite the presence of multiple complications, the patient had a good structural and visual outcome postoperatively.
