Abstract
Materials & Methodology – observational cross-sectional study from MAY 2018 to DEC 2019. 100 patients with ocular trauma were considered.
Results- The mean age was 35 years with 48% less than 30 years in age.
65% was male. 31% presented within 24 hours of trauma, 61% within 3 days and 25% presented after 7 days.95% had unilateral trauma and 5% had bilateral injuries.62% had suffered from road traffic accidents, 25% had work related trauma while in 13% cases the trauma was at home. Blunt objects, foreign bodies and sharp objects were the top 3 causes of trauma accounting for 26%, 23% and 15% of trauma cases respectively.
The anterior segment involved in 74% cases, the posterior segment in 4% of cases and combined injury was in 22% of the cases.
