Abstract

Aim: to evaluate significance and benefits of different macular functions tests (MFT) available with the ophthalmologists during post COVID era. Methods: We can use MFT for diagnosis; follow up of macular diseases, evaluating macular function in eyes with opaque media such as cataract and dense vitreous hemorrhage. We evaluate the best possible method available based on easy, comfortable, non invasive, fast, less contract time, cheap, accuracy, less chance of contamination and reproducible technique. Result: disposable pin hole made up of black cardboard, super pinhole are very cheap method, will fulfill all our criteria in clinic. PAM, preferential hyperacuity perimeter are non contact methods but costly. Conclusion: when OPD cost is very high due to COVID 19, these cheap methods will really help the practitioners to quick evaluate the patient’s condition. They will also help for patient counseling & satisfaction and reduce the cost and contamination of the establishment
