Abstract
We report a case of 28 years old lady who presented with defective vision in right eye for 2 weeks following an episode of viral fever 1 week ago.BCVA was 6/12p and 6/6 & IOP 16 and 14mmhg in right and left eye respectively.Right eye anterior segment examination showed fine keratic precipitates, Fundus showed focal perivenular inflammatory spots with multiple cotton wool spots and macular edema.FFA of right eye was suggestive of vasculitis.Based on this, a working diagnosis of postviral retinitis was made and appropriate treatment was given. During her follow up visit, malar rash was noted ,which made us suspicious of collagen vascular disease and hence lab workup was done which found her to be strongly positive for antibodies such as SS-A,RO-52,RNP,SS-B. Rheumatologist diagnosed her as SLE and started on systemic steroids and immunosuppressants. We present this case to emphasize on the importance of thorough general examination in all cases to make a better and earlier diagnosis
