Abstract

Purpose: To analyze efficiency and reproducibility of femto lasers in therapeutic procedures of the cornea in addition to cataracts, corneal flaps

Methods: 701 (41%) cataracts, 735 (44%) flaps and 255 (15%) Corneal therapeutics namely stromal pouch for riboflavin in deeper crosslinking (Femto CXL, n=89), lamellar keratoplasty (LKP, n= 67), corneal stromal augmentation in advanced keratoconus (CSA, n= 41), Laser DSAEK (n= 24), corneal ring segments (ICRS, n=19), Laser PKP, n=12 & miscellaeneous (n=3).

Results: In Femto-CXL, CCT was maintained, cornea flattened, deeper demarcation line, 393.6 mic. LKP had no tissue loss or perforation. PKP had precise graft-host junctions. In EK,vision was 0.11LogMAR with no hyperopic shift, graft thickness was 67.26mic. CSA improved vision by 4 lines, CCT restored, corneas flattened and reversed irregular astigmatism by 9.46D.

Conclusions: Femtolasers in addition to precise cataracts & LASIK flaps, perhaps redefined corneal therapeutic procedures.
