Abstract
This cross sectional study was conducted among HIV-infected adults attending an outpatient clinic at National AIDS Research Institute between Jan-Sept 2019. A total of 441 HIV infected individuals were enrolled. Median age was 44 years (IQR: 38-49). 227 (51.5%) were males. Median duration of HIV infection in participants was 7.9 years (IQR: 2.7-12.1) and median duration on antiretroviral treatment was 7 years (IQR: 2.5-9.8). Ocular manifestations were present in 93 (21.1%) participants. Cataract 59 (13.4%) (59.3%) followed by corneal opacity 4 (0.9%)(4.3%) and glaucoma 4 (0.9%) (4.3%). Participants with lower education were 2.97 times more likely to develop ocular manifestations [AOR=2.97, 95%CI=1.58-5.58, p=0.001] and the odds of having ocular manifestations were 0.2 times more in participants >40 years of age (AOR=0.02, 95%CI= 0.10-0.39, p=<0.001]. 132(29.9%) had a refractive error of which 40 had hypermetropia, 311/441 (70.5%) had near vision improved by dispensing of specs.[advanced_iframe src="https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx?src=https://aiosproceedings.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/2021/E-Poster/FP968.pptx" width="100%" height="608"]
