Abstract
The practice in Ophthalmology, like other disciplines in medical sciences is not any more only about the science, art of delivering the highest quality of treatment and finesse of surgery. With introduction of the consumer protection act people started to stamp the unfavourable treatment outcomes as deliberate omission of care on the part of a doctor. This questionnaire based instruction course is designed in such a way that a legal expert will answer the valid apprehensions of a practising ophthalmologist in four aspects – legal measures to protect the treating ophthalmologist, legal measures to protect the centre of practice, legal measures against harassment in social media or physical and mental assault of the doctor and the steps to ensure patients’ rights also. We believe that this instruction course can find a delicate solution so that no genuine patient or a devoted ophthalmologist face undue hindrance in receiving or providing proper treatment respectively.
