Abstract
Currently, conjunctival autograft (CAG) following pterygium excision is considered to be ‘gold standard’ with a recurrence rate varying between 2 to 7.4%. The very purpose of pterygium surgery gets defeated by its recurrence and we are aiming for a ‘zero’ recurrence. To achieve zero recurrence, various techniques are evolving in recent years including P.E.R.F.E.C.T technique, pterygium excision with mini-Simple limbal epithelial transplantation (mini-SLET) and Pterygium Extended Removal with mini-SLET (PER with mini-SLET) for both primary and recurrent pterygium. This video assisted instruction course will waive the ophthalmologist through the current and the evolving techniques highlighting their concepts, surgical techniques, recurrence rate and the complications.
