Abstract
Facial nerve palsy and its sequelae dramatically deteriorate the ocular, psychosocial and emotional wellbeing of the patient which demand a dedicated multidisciplinary support system. An Ophthalmologist plays a eminent role in the management of Facial palsy starting from acute stage management of ocular surface protection to facial reanimation surgery to correct the after-effects.
This IC designed to cater comprehensive knowledge in Facial nerve palsy starting from clinical anatomy, pathology, examination including grading systems and management in oculoplastic perspectives using video clips wherever applicable. The course will help the budding ophthalmic plastic surgeon and general ophthalmologist to develop appropriate management strategy of facial palsy patients according to the clinical stage
