Abstract
Post LASIK ectasia is a sight threatening complication that can reduce productivity, job prospects and cause psychological disturbance. It can also lead to a large compensation being awarded to the patient causing financial loss to the surgeon.
This course brings updates on updates on etiology, interpretation of risk factors such as Percentage of tissue altered (PTA), Corneal imaging such as Topography, Tomography (Scheimpflug, Dual Scheimpflug and OCT) , integrated with Biomechanical analysis(ORA) Epithelial mapping and suggestions on modifying intraoperative variables accordingly. Legal angles pertaining to Refractive surgery with reference to LASIK will be discussed.
