Abstract

The objective of this video assisted  course is to help the attendees diagnose a failing bleb and take corrective measures at the right time. What we can do at right time to  maintain patency of surgically created fistula and retard or prevent the natural process of healing. Revival of a failed bleb is rewarding as the patient is saved from an extra surgery or multiple medications. This course will elucidate preoperative ,intra operative & post operative measures including judicious use of anti metabolites to make trabeculectomies  a success. It includes how to diagnose early failing blebs & use of ASOCT in early diagnosisits .Bleb  management strategies  like ocular massage , suturolysis  , 5 FU &  subconjunctival MMC ,bleb needling using various techniques  will be dealt with in detail. This IC course highlights the nuance of surgical techniques with instructive video clippings  & instructor reveal  tips &   tricks to  optimised good surgical out  come of  trabeculectomies .
