Abstract

The concept of limbal & conjunctival stem cell has given a definitive dimension to medical and surgical management of various OSD by establishing clinically with limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD). However basic concept, orign and identification of limbal stem cells is still highly ill defined ,having scanty evidence based structural establishment in its origin as well as in the subsequent process of modulation of ocular surface and its biomechanics while handling LSCD. The proposed video assisted ,interactive course is being aimed to highlight existing modalities of identification of stem cells & explore and deliberate various methods to link structural evidences of LSC(Limbal Stem Cells) in post LSC application at nano level by integration of embryological, cellular marker and Electron microscopy & laser scanning confocal microscopy studies with the clinical evidence. Future trends of identification and application of LSC will also be discussed.
