Abstract
Rapid advancements have ensued in the field of Refractive surgery over the past decade, with progress in investigative and treatment modalities. The course will begin with a discussion of various complex situations that require choosing appropriate preoperative investigative and management strategies. Management of intraoperative complications like flap related disasters and suction loss will be discussed. Subsequent management of postoperative complications like epithelial ingrowth and topoguided ablations in fixing the irregular corneas will be dealt with. Controversies and decision making in correction of myopic regression and post LASIK ectasia will be detailed upon. Challenges in astigmatic correction using cyclotorsion compensation in SMILE and toric Phakic intraocular lenses will be elucidated with appropriate case examples. This interactive case based panel discussion is aimed at providing the audience with a panoramic view of tackling various challenges in Refractive surgery.
