Abstract

The management of childhood cataracts is a challenge. The surgical treatment is often difficult, tiresome, and requires a dedicated team effort. The challenge is further compounded by IOL power calculation, which is multifactorial, hence difficult. The present instruction course details the surgical tips and tricks for a pediatric surgeon. We illustrate the basic steps of a pediatric cataract surgery and how to further improve it with the current plethora of drugs and instruments. We aim to deal with crucial and most controversial aspects of pediatric cataract management and try to make it simple through our video-based presentations.
