Abstract
Primary Angle Closure Disease (PACD) is responsible for nearly half of the world’s blindness due to glaucoma. This IC will elaborate on the new current perspective of PACD giving emphasis on the latest guidelines, updates and controversies surrounding this disease. It will focus on Epidemiology terminologies, classifications, diagnosis and management of PACD at the clinical level. Emphasis will be given to Gonioscopy and detection of suspects. Anterior Segment Imaging will be discussed. The role of Iridotomy, along with understanding the importance of Pilocarpine and the place of Prostaglandin Analogues will be a part of the course. Surgical options, Review of Literature and its clinical relevance will further empower the attendees to treat this disease effectively thereby reducing the visual morbidity from PACD.
