Abstract

This series of videos will show the various techniques and paraphernalia’s that assist in carrying out Phacoemulsification in a Cataract with Small Pupil.

Use of Viscoelastics agents & Devices like Malyugin Ring, BHEX Ring and Iris hooks to overcome these challenging situations would be demonstrated. Currently available devices including Malyugin Ring, BHEX Ring and Iris hooks and their correct application will be demonstrated. Phacoemulsification in challenging cataract surgery with Small pupil, posterior synaechea, rigid non dilating pupil, etc. would be demonstrated. The videos will showcase these devices & techniques besides highlighting pearls and pitfalls of each of them. Viewers will learn when to, which one to & how to use various rings, hooks and similar devices to ensure a safe & more predictable surgery in these challenging situations. The videos would provide viewers the ability to better understand the nuances of Phacoemulsification in small pupil cataract.
