Abstract

8 year old girl presented to us after a fall from the bicycle &was diagnosed with 120* of lens subluxation &mature intumescent cataract in the RE.She could only perceive light in that eye.Disturbance of vitreous phase with presence of fibrinous membrane in the area of subluxation was seen.The capsular bag was stabilized &fixed using a CTR & CTS such that PCIOL could be implanted.Post operative fundus evaluation showed a choroidal rupture at the macula. But,her vision improved from PL+ to 20/60 &remained so till the last follow-up,5 years post-operatively ensuring a good long term outcome with a stable PCIOL in its most physiological state.

This video describes the indications of using trypan blue,technique for performing capsulorhexis,important tips to remember while implanting the CTR &CTS &methods to ensure completeness of vitrectomy with implantation of a PCIOL in the bag & highlights the need for methodical planning & appropriate execution which can give the best surgical outcomes
