Abstract
Setting/Venue: Rural Indian eye Hospital, Haldia, India
Methods: After nucleus prolapse into anterior chamber, the trainee inserted wire vectis below the nucleus and the iris. While delivering out of the wound near total iridodialysis occurred, which was unnoticed.
Results: Iridodialysis was not manageble, so total iridectomy done and after putting normal PCIOL in the bag, patient left as aniridia. Though after a month patient did not complain much about any glare.
Conclusions: Iridodialysis is very common complication during vectis assisted nucleus delivery, but early prediction and detection can save both, patient and surgeon from devastating consequences.
