Abstract

This case gains importance as it is the 3rd giant chondroid syringoma to be reported .

A 52 years old man presented with a non tender firm mass of size 12*10*8 cm arising from the left lower eyelid since 3 years.Mass was mobile ,not attached to the overlying skin or underlying structures.It was excised & sent for biopsy.Lowerlid mechanical ectropion corrected by lid shortening and skin was tightened.Biopsy showed chondromyxoid material,myoepithelial cell and no cellular atypia;diagnosed as benign chondroid syringoma.

Chondroid syringoma is a rare skin tumor;even rare over lowerlid.Untill only 26 cases of orbital chondroid syringoma have been reported.
