Abstract
Study Design: 1-year hospital based observational study.Material & Methods: we determined the serum lipid level of 35 cases of RVO (10 CRVO,25 BRVO) in autoanalyzer in biochemistry laboratory. The fundoscopic findings were documented by fundus photography.no control in our study. Result: on correlating the various fundoscopic findings with serum lipid profile, correlation of VLDL with disc edema & macular edema found to be statistically highly significant.Correlation of decreased HDL with retinal & disc neovascularization found to be statistically significant.
Conclusion: increased VLDL may play some role in development of disc & macular edema, while decreased HDL in the development of neovascularization in RVO patients.
