Abstract
Methods: An online survey in a tertiary center where patients connects with doctors via video call,send images in whatsaap and by analysing complaints provisional diagnosis are made.
Results: . A total of 89 teleconsultations were done from 4th april to 30th june.. More than 60% consultations were from previously seen patients. Red eye was the commonest presenting complaint (24.7%), followed by dov (23.59%) and post operative follow up (20%).Conjunctivitis was the commonest diagnosis (19%) .43.8% required physical examination, mostly due to uncertain diagnosis or non resolving of symptoms after prescribed treatment.
Conclusion: Teleconsultation playing a vital role in providing ophthalmic services during lockdown. 56.2% did not require physical examination.
