Abstract
Aim:To analyse the corneal changes in patients with ocular Tuberculosis (TB) & Sarcoidosis by In vivo confocal microscopy(IVCM) & their correlation with clinical findings STUDY DESIGN: A prospective, observational, case series.METHODS: After examination of 24 eyes of 14 patients,IVCM by HRT III /Rostock Cornea Module was done at presentation and at 3 months.Changes in corneal nerves were analysed using CCmetric analysis software.Dentritic cells(DC)& keratic precipitates(KPs)morphology were studied RESULTS: Infiltrative & dentritic pattern in TB uveitis & infiltrative and central globular with dentritic pattern in sacrcoidosis uveitis at presentation & their morphology changed to pigment clumps in completely resolved cases. DC ( 65% immature, 35% mature ) decreased during the course of disease. On follow up,corneal nerve fiber density was increased. CONCLUSION: IVCM can be used as an additional investigation tool in the management of TB& sarcoid uveitis based on the KPs morphology and DC.
