FP0859 : Total Luxation of Globe With Disinsertion Of All EOM Following RTA – A Rare Case Report

Abstract
The incidence of eye trauma has been increasing rampantly in road traffic accidents. We report a case of 24 years old male who presented with complete globe avulsion of left eye after road traffic accident. His vision was nil perception of light in left eye and 20/20 in right eye. There was a deep laceration at the eyebrow where the eye was adhered with soft tissue and was connected only with the inferior rectus making the mechanism of injury difficult to identify. There was lid tear medially and laceration 3 cm above and parallel to the jaw line. NCCT of brain and eye along with CECT of face with three dimensional reconstruction of face was done which revealed multiple comminuted fractures. Enucleation with surgical exploration of the wound was done with removal of few metallic foreign bodies. The patient was planned for secondary reconstruction by the maxillofacial surgeon. This report points out to the importance taking precautionary measures while driving.
