Abstract
Ocular burns may rapidly cause extensive damage to the entire anterior segment, resulting in permanent loss of vision. Even with proper medical management and improved surgical facilities, the overall outcome is not encouraging in many cases. This course conducted by stalwarts in the field aims to provide a comprehensive overview and treatment opportunities in early and late stages. Presenters will describe indications, surgical techniques and their experience of using these techniques through clinical cases. Appropriate medical management and/ or surgical procedures will be demonstrated with video film. This course is meant for ocular surface, corneal surgeons and comprehensive ophthalmologists. All attendees will be offered course materials that includes a compilation of surgical videos and a handout on postoperative care and complication management. At the conclusion of this course, the attendees will be learned enough to handle ocular burn cases in a better and confident way.
