Abstract
Nearly half of the glaucoma cases seen by comprehensive ophthalmologists tend to be glaucoma suspects. These are controversial clinical dilemmas as not all of them require treatment and might not develop glaucoma in near future without treatment. Unnecessary intervention in such cases could lead to decrease QOL. However, certain cases could progress to develop overt glaucoma if left untreated and hence, initiating treatment in these suspects could prevent irreversible vision loss. Presence of certain risk factors & predictive determinants like changes in chamber angle, optic disc and visual field will tilt the scale towards treatment initiation. Through this instruction course these factors will be discussed in detail with ample examples by expert panelists. Additionally, tips to avoid misdiagnosing someone as glaucoma suspect will be shared. Through panel discussion & audience interaction the predicament regarding whether to initiate treatment or only monitor will be tackled.
