Abstract
Evaporative dry eyes, as we all know,is one of the most common type of dry eyes. The Meibomian glands form an integral part of the ocular surface milieu. The study of Meibomian Glands ,which is called Meibography ,is under evolution and is being studied more and more in order to understand its role and correlation with evaporative dry eyes.
This instruction course discusses the morphological variations of Meibomian Glands both in physiological and pathological conditions and its impact on the ocular surface. It also addresses the various forms of therapy to improve the meibomian gland secretions in order to improve the equilibrium between the lids and ocular surface.
Role of Heat therapy, mechanical expression,IPL and Lipiflow therapy is being discussed at length to know their benefits and drawbacks to improve the meibum secretions.
