Abstract
Background
To highlight the effective and safe technique of Modified ab interno sewing machine endocyclopexy for chronic cyclodialysis cleft in a blunt ocular trauma
Method
A patient with traumatic cyclodialysis cleft recalcitrant to medical treatment was posted for the surgery. After the bulbar conjunctiva was incised along the corneal limbus and scleral groove was made 2mm from limbus corresponding to the ciclodialysis. An incision was made along the corneal limbus on the opposite side. A 26G needle with a 10–0 suture entered the anterior chamber from the incision and passed through the ciliary body with clefts and through the sclera to fixate the ciliary body on the scleral wall with continuous mattress suture by using sewing machine technique.
Conclusion
Modified ab interno sewing machine endocyclopexy technique for traumatic cyclodialysis cleft in blunt ocular trauma is a safe and effective procedure with simple operation, little tissue damage and few complications.
