Abstract
Method-Orbital exploration under local anaesthesia was done. The globe was then repositioned into the orbit by applying gentle pressure antero-posteriorly. This manoeuvre was facilitated with use of two Desmarrers retractor underneath eyelids which guided the globe to its normal position
Result-On a 8 week follow up, globe was well placed with no residual proptosis & relatively good cosmesis. Although vision did not improve in affected eye, ocular movements were adequate in all gazes except restriction on adduction. Right eye was unaffected with a vision of 6/6
Conclusion-Every effort should be made for an immediate reduction, as it minimizes damage to optic nerve and retina. A simple manoeuvre, that can be done by any ophthalmologist and should be learnt by all, even in remotest rural area, as prompt reduction results in restoration of full anatomical, functional, and visual recovery
